About Us

South Liverpool Recruitment began trading in 2003 as a sister agency to JET (Jobs, Education and Training) South Liverpool, a government-funded project established in 1996 to help unemployed people into work as part of the regeneration of the Speke-Garston area of Liverpool.

Our company is a social enterprise – a business that trades primarily for social purposes and reinvests its surpluses in the business or community rather than distributing them to shareholders.

Our main aims are to enhance the opportunities and potential of individuals in their working lives and to promote the economic effectiveness of the south Liverpool area of the Liverpool City Region. We achieve these aims mainly through the delivery of temporary staff services, but we also provide a permanent staff search and selection service as well as specialist recruitment services such as ability testing and personality profiling using tools developed by SHL, the world leader in objective assessment.

Whilst our business evolved in south Liverpool, we now deliver services across Merseyside and the North West. We have developed expertise in working with companies in the manufacturing sector, whilst at the same time retaining our reputation for understanding businesses and organisations working in commercial and customer service environments.

Our main service objective is to achieve total client satisfaction. To achieve this we regularly communicate with all our clients to gauge satisfaction, their market needs and to review any problems and we continually review our performance to identify opportunities for improvement.

We’re proud of our achievements since 2003, particularly the fact that we are a completely self-sustaining, not-for-profit organisation. We believe that our services can add value to almost any business or organisation, whilst at the same time helping to ensure that we make a difference to the individuals that we also serve.

During 2007 South Liverpool Recruitment worked with an external marketing company on the strategic plans for the future growth of the business. The new marketing strategy included developing the business and its services across the Liverpool region and because of this, recommendations were made to update our brand. The brand had to be representative of the wider range of services and skills the company has to offer both now and in the future. The chosen brand was U&Me Recruitment, which was developed from the word recruitment.

The Directors believe the new brand of U&Me Recruitment will provide a strong platform for the company to build on, whilst continuing to provide the same level of high service to our current clients. The U&Me brand also promotes the social enterprise objectives of the business which will attract many new clients who want to work with their local community.

We have had a lot of good feedback on the new brand and for those of you who are undecided; all we would say is give it time we are sure it will grow on you!
